🌱 What’s in the Pack

A selection of quick-growing microgreen seeds

Open-pollinated and untreated, hand-picked for quick windowsill growing. We choose the varieties by season and reliability, so your family always gets generous, kid-friendly growers suited to the time of year — plus a printed story card for each one.

🫘 Heirloom & Untreated Seed

Every seed we send is heirloom or untreated — open-pollinated, non-GMO, and chosen for genuine flavour, character and reliability. These are the varieties gardeners have saved and handed down for generations: traditional tastes and one-of-a-kind types you won't find on a supermarket shelf. And because open-pollinated seed breeds true, your kids can save it and grow the very same plants next year — and for years to come.

🪴 How to Grow Them

  1. 1Fill a shallow tray (or the pack’s trays) with 2–3cm of damp seed-raising mix.
  2. 2Scatter seeds thickly — microgreens grow shoulder to shoulder, not spaced out.
  3. 3Press them down, mist with water, and cover with a plate for 2–3 days (they sprout in the dark).
  4. 4Uncover on a bright windowsill and mist morning and night.
  5. 5Harvest with scissors just above the soil when the first true leaves appear — usually day 7–14.

The pack includes the full printed growing guide, with a sowing calendar for your climate.

✏️ Learning Ideas

  • Keep a day-by-day sprout diary — with growth this fast you can draw changes every single day.
  • Race the varieties: predict which will sprout first, then chart the winners.
  • Grow one tray in light and one in the dark, and discover why plants need the sun.
  • Run a family blind taste test and rank the five varieties from mildest to spiciest.

Every activity comes as a printed sheet in the pack — science, maths and journalling, disguised as gardening.

🍽️ Once They’re Grown

  • Scatter them over sandwiches, eggs, tacos and soups — a harvest kids actually eat.
  • Weigh the harvest from a single tray and work out what it would cost at the shops.
  • Re-sow the tray the same day you harvest — a new crop every fortnight.
  • Gift a tray of pea shoots to a grandparent or neighbour, grown to order.
